Science: Terms 1-2 Super Pack (Full Year)
Purchase a discounted year (32 weeks) of classes! This includes:
Celebrate the Vertebrates (7 weeks)
Many of the most familiar animals on our planet are vertebrates! Together, we will explore the characteristics of the five vertebrate animal groups: fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. We will learn how to classify and organize vertebrates based on these characteristics. Finally, we will take some time to learn a little bit about animal life cycles. Some animals start small and just grow larger as they age. Other animals undergo amazing transformations!
Wonders of Water (3 weeks)
We are so used to seeing it everywhere, but do we ever stop to think about how AMAZING water is?! In this class, we will learn about how the basic chemical structure of water makes it so unique. Because of its special structure, it is necessary for all life on Earth! We will learn about how humans, plants, and animals all need water to live. We will learn about the water cycle and how water is recycled. We will learn how water can even change solid rock over time.
What's in the Solar System? (6 weeks)
In this class, we will learn about solar systems and how they fit into the Universe! We will learn about the planets in our solar system, our sun, and many other things that are found in our solar system! On the last day of class, we will be able to make our own model of the solar system to help us remember all the planets and how they are each unique.
Wacky Weather (5 weeks)
We all know about hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, snow, and thunderstorms...but do we REALLY know how they happen? In this class, we will discover the secrets of the weather. How wind, heat, pressure, ocean currents, and other factors make different weather phenomena happen.
You Are What You Eat, and So Much More! (5 weeks)
Our bodies are amazingly self-sufficient and work without us even thinking about it. However, there are some things we need to do to keep it healthy, strong, and long-lasting. We will learn about healthy eating (what does the “healthy stuff” really do?), correct exercising, and how to avoid disease when possible.
What is Space? (6 weeks)
Last semester we learned about our solar system. We know it is part of “outer space”...but what really IS space? In this class, we will learn what space is, what happens to our bodies in space, how gravity and matter work, and much more!
