More Fractions with Mountain Plovers

When the Mountain Plover lands on the prairie, it practically disappears. How? By camouflage. To be sure they know how to disappear just right, they have to have the perfect proportion of colors. So, they fix the problem with fractions.
 
Through in-class activities and independent practice, students will:
Use a table to compare grade 5 fractions with unlike numerators and unlike denominators
Use blocks to build fractions in a variety of ways
Multiply fractions by whole numbers using blocks as a model for a strategy based on multiples of unit fractions
 
Day and Time: Fridays, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM ET
