Math Super Pack: Term 2
Purchase one term (16 weeks) of math classes for only $10.25/session!* This includes:
Variables I: A Snack for Chimpanzees (4 weeks)
Chimpanzees aren’t too picky about their food. In fact, they don’t mind eating up to 200 different kinds of food, including variables. They decided they liked variables so much they learned how to use them in math.
- Students determine the value of a variable in a multi-step expression
- Students simplify and evaluate variable expressions involving integers
- Students simplify and evaluate variable expressions with distribution
Variables II: Way Down Deep with Whale Sharks (4 weeks)
The chimpanzees thought they had their fill of variables, so they decided to give the rest of the variables to some birds, who gave them to some whale sharks. Now the whale sharks are experts at variables. Whales sharks reach an average length of 32 feet, but there have been reports that the smarter ones (the ones who know variables super well) can exceed 59 feet in length.
- Students determine the value of a variable in a multi-step expression
- Students simplify and evaluate variable expressions involving integers
- Students simplify and evaluate variable expressions with distribution
Snow Leopards Look in the Coordinate Plane (4 weeks)
A snow leopard’s tail is thought to help it with balance and to wrap around itself for warmth in the cold habitat the snow leopard lives in. They love spending time in snowy areas to think about the coordinate plane.
- Students locate points expressed as fractions and decimals to the hundredths place by scaling the Cartesian coordinate plane.
Belugas Blow Up Polygons (4 weeks)
A beluga can swim backwards, nod its head in all directions, and it generally lives in a pod (a small group of belugas). In these pods, belugas practice nodding, swimming backwards, and measuring polygons all at the same time.
- Students construct different types of triangles, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, and scaled polygons using specified restraints, and use a ruler and protractor to measure their sides and angles.
- Day and Time: Fridays, 12:45 PM - 1:45 PM
- Bundle Duration: 16 Weeks

*There is an included additional $45 charge for DreamBox, which is a one-time purchase for the entire school year. If you have previously paid the $45 charge for DreamBox through another product, please contact us. The $45 DreamBox charge gives your student access to class assignments through DreamBox.
Here at The Thinking Kid, we utilize the DreamBox Math App to enable our students to practice math skills outside of the classroom. DreamBox engages students through math games to test their proficiency in math concepts discussed in class. DreamBox access is essential to student success in our math program. This is a one-time purchase for the entire school year.
