An understanding of geography develops in children an understanding of 'place,' their own place in the world, and that of other people. Studying geography provides opportunities that nurture children’s vital interpersonal skills such as empathy, collaboration, and argumentation. All places and spaces have a history behind them, shaped by humans, earth, and climate. In this class, students will practice geography skills and explore countries, continents, and oceans. We will reinforce the memory of their newly discovered skills and facts with exciting jeopardy games with their classmates at the end of each class.
